Forest Products, big pulp and paper millsi nearing completion. All the firemen are company employees and take the. keenest interest in their fire protecfion work. They created a great surprise in fire brigade circles everywhere last Easter by winning the Silver Jubilee Shield at Manigakm-o "first time out" against 30 other competitors. With over £6,000,000 invested in its Kinleith and Tokoroa developmenfe and £9,000,000 in the surrounding forests, N.Z. Forest Products Ltd. gives fire preeautions a high place among mainteance activities^ The brigade at Kinleith, is proud possessor of a two-storeyed fire station, a powerful engine, over 3,000ft. of hoise, a trailer pump, mobile searchlights a.nd other moderrt gear. The superintendent is Mr Harry Allen, who farmed ihe brigade at Mangakino, and has had 18 year,s, fire-fighting experience. Other trainedi firemen are ineluded in his crew. 1
