BREAKING-UP DAY

TAUPO DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL Breaking-up day at Taupo District High School was marked by an informal morning tea at which the Headmaster (Mr J. R. Osborne), and his staff, entertained members of the local clergy who had conducted religious lessons during the year and members of the School Committee who found it convenient to attend. Mr Osborne expressed his appreciation of the co-operation of the . teaching staff and of the committee during the year, and the chairman of the committee (Mr Baumberg), replied in appropriate terms. The Headmaster also referred to the departure of Miss Balmforth, relievin£ assistant, who had given valuable service, and expressed the hppe that she would be re-employed next year. : In a happy speech the Rev. C. G. G. Salt made acknowledgment on behalf of the Church and the School's hospitable gesture, and referred with appreciation to the co-operation he had experienced in the course of his work with them.
