Preliminary arrangements to form a Rowing Club in Taupo are in train, and as advertised in this issue, a meeting is to be held at Waipahihi to further the movement. The StarBoating Club, of Wellington, has very kindly presented a skifF as a nucleus for the club when formed. A shed has been made available on the Lake Front, and an area of foreshore for boating facilities. ★ A reminder is advertised of the arrived general meeting* of the Taupo St. John Amibulance Association at Rickit's Hall on Thursday November 20th. ★ A sneak thief or thieves — entered the poultry run of a resident in Tororepa Road, slaughtered two of the best fowls, and made off, leaving blood spatterd evidence of guilt behind. f i The formal opening of the bowling season at Taupo on Sunday, November 9th. had to be called off on account of the unfavourable weather.
