INLAND REVENUE DEPARTMENT

On and after 1st November 1952, the Land and Income Tax Department and the Stamp Duties Office, in accordance with the Inland Revenue Department Act, 1952, shall be known as the Inland Revenue Department; this Department being under the control of the Commissioner of Inland Revenue. The Land and | Income Tax Division becomes the Taxes Division and the Stamp Duties Office becomes the Duties Division of the Inland Revenue Department. The classes of taxes and duties dealt with by those Divisions remain unchanged. The branch offices of the two Dii visions are under the control of the District Commissioners of Taxes, Taxes Division and the Distridt Commissioners of Stamp Duties, Duties Division, Inland Revenue Department respectively.
