NEW URANIUM FINDER
A new detection device that locates aranium much faster and more ac'urately than the geiger counter is being used by prospectors on the Western plateaus of the U.S.A. The I new indicator, called a scintillating nrobe, was recently developed ' by the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. ihe probe is said to be accurate al-most to an inch in measuring the depth of ore strata. Also it is much more sensitive to smaller deposits of metal and indicates the varying energy impulses, thus ideitifying the elements. It has proved so eft'ective that prospectors believe they will be able to abandon the geiger eore sampling method used uiitil now.
