LAST MATCH OF SEASON The last match of the season was a representative fixture ybetween Bennydale and Taupo. It proved to be a field day for Taupo who showed their superiority in both forwards and backs from the commencement of the game. In the last few minutes they over-ran the visitors and scored practically at will. A. Gray was outstanding in ihe forw!ards, whilst N. Rickit an the backline was most prominent. The ball was handled freely in passing rushes in which. both forwards and backs took part. Jensen proved his ability once more in taking some difficult kicks at goal. The latter commenced the scoring for Taupo by placing an awkward kick from an infringement, and h few minutes later he converted -la try g-ained by' Kapua. In the meantime Bennydale had scored between the posts and half time came with the score, Taupo 8, Bennydale 3. The second half proved too hard for the visitors who appeared to be very tired. The Taupo forwards over-ran them time after time. A.. Gray opened up the game to pass to T. Wall; N. Rickit received it and crossed the line to score and he converted it himself. Tries came quickly to build the score up for Taupo. In the meantime Bennydale crossed the line in rather a luckv break and made the score -22 points. to 6 in favour of Taupo at the final whistle.
