CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND

Work on the children's playground at the Southern ehd of Tongariro Street is progressing slowly, but the work has fallen on a few members of the Ratepayers* and Businessmen's Associations and other volunteers who have come forward to help in the project. The working bee advertised for Sunday week last was attended only four enthusiasts, and oue .of these was not a niember of either of the above mentioned associations. Only one member of the Combined AsCommittee which is i handling the project was present. The work of battening and fixing the wire netfcing -has still to be completed, and it seems a pity that more active support from the rank and file of the above associations hs not been forthwould see the job accomplished.
