Fearnly and Gillies Secretary-Treasurer, Miss B. Waltets. Club Captain, Mr M. A. McKean. Committee, JVfessrs R. George, E. Smith, Baker, M. A. McKean, Mesdames R. Anchor, D. Balmforth, S. George, M. Fulljames.

At the first meeting of the committee tit was decided to call the club the TAUPO TENNIS CLUB, and to affiliate with the local cenire. The opening was fixed for October 5th. All intending players axe urged to attend, The opening to start at 1.30 p.m., at the Courts and to consist of a Yankee Tournament to determine the approximate positions on the Ladder. Mr Baumberg kindly donated a half-guinea trophy to be awarded to the lady and gentleman players scoring the highest points in thgir respective divisions. Afternoon tea for the opening day will be provided by the ladies of the club. Fees for membership of the club were set as follows: — £1 10/-* for men, reducable to £1 5/- if payed by October 3rd.; • £1 1/- for -ladies, reducable to 18/6, if payed by October 30th.; 15/- for school children, reducable to 12/6, if payed hj October 30th. It was decided to adopt and enforce the rules of "Whites"' for all players on the Courts once the season started. A working bee to clean up the courts and generally make them suitable for play was decided upon. All intending members are requested to contact the President I.

Strange at the Bank of New Zealand, Mr Baumberg, Taupo Depot, or the Secretary, Miss B. Walters at the Taupo District High School, as membership to the club after opening day will be strictly by Nomination only. The club has got away to a good start tbis year, members are keen and the committee active, all of which augers for a successful season of Tennis.
