OVERSEAS TRAVELLER IN TAUPO

A visitor to Onslow House lasfc week-end was Mr H. A. Lion, foreign travel agent of the Capwell Service of Oakland, California. Interviewed on Sunday morning ^ by our representative he was most impressed by the beautiful view across the Lake to the white-topped mountains in the National Park. He was most disappointed that he was not able this trip to see the scenery of the South Island, but, he said, "You have a bit of the Switzerland touch right here in Taupo.

Mr Lion went on to state that he and his wife had enjoyed themselves immensely during the few days they had been in the country. The accommodation had beeii very comfortable wherever they had been. "Seenery is more important than private bathrooms" he stated, "Most travellers come to enjoy new lands, new conditions. They don't all expect private bathroonis while they are travelling. New Zealand will be a 'mds-:' for future American travellers in the Pacific". Mi and Mrs Lion were only spending a few days in the North Island hefore leaving for Fiji and then on to? Tahiti. * * *
