Recent Activities From the Taupo Girl Guides Company two marching teams have been selected to be trained by professional instructors, and preparation for parfeieipation in events programmed fox the War Memorial Hall fund-raising eampaign. The trainees will work according to the rules for marching adepted in the 1951-52 syllabus. There is also in hand the formation oi an Indian Club Squad to take part in the carnivai. In training, second class work is progressing, bne girl having completed her test, while three others are about to do so. Onthe Sunday before last the Comapy» at the invitation of the Rev. C. EV Salt, of St. Andrew's Anglican Chiircb, paraded for attendance at the service — the first parade of its kind in which the Company has taken part. It is hoped to arrange to have paxades at other churches as well, as the Girl Guide movement is an.open crganisation, and is eligible to participate in any service at which they are invited to attend. During the approaching school holidays the Company expects to have visiting Guides from Auckland and the Waikato, who are looking forward to spending an enjoyable time with the Taupo girls. A Brownie Pack is to be enrolled during this week. M others may interview the Browti Owl at Ricket's Hall on Mondays, after school for the enxolment of recruits. As only a smsall pack is to be formed, would-be recruits are advised to come along early.
