TAUPO GIRLS' MARCHING TEAM
In the opinion of their instructor, Mr A. P. Tierney, ex sergeant-major with 27 years' service with the British and N.Z. Forces, the Taupo Girls' Marching Team has made excellent progress since enrolment. He contends that girls respond much morequickly and adapt themselves to marching more easily than men, and feels confident that with the assistance of Mr Currie, the team will bo in first class order by Christmas. The girls acknowledge with thanks, donations totalling £18 from the following: Mesdames M. O'Connor, P, Avello, A. Watson, E. E. Phelps, W. H. Davis, Mrs J. Story, Schultz, Rowlands, R. B. Brown; Miss E. Rickit; and Messrs F. Semple, G. Reid, P. Avello, J. W. Birnie Ltd., F. Ward, B. Ying. J. M. Tuck, T. Bergren, C. N. D. Faulkner, W. Leichman, W. Couner,. R. Anderson-Bak, F. McCoU, C. E. Molesworth, D. N. Tay^or, J. Greatorex, E. Tavlor, G. S. Anchor,, Pu^-!e]>h, A. GilbVs. J. O'Toole, J. Wills, J. Attwood, "Anonymous," and the Taupo Book Club. A silver cup has also been donated by Margery Daw, of Wellington.
