INTERESTING FILM EVENING An interesting film evening was spent at Rickits Hall on July 9th. under the auspieces of the Taupo Home and School Association. Of the films screened, "Your Children's Sleep" demonstrated the psychologcial importance to the sensative child of sleep and its relation to general health. The movie pointed out to parents was "Don't be tough on the children;" to teacher, "Don't be an old black witch." "Pacific Cruise" overflowed with the interesting and colourful life of the Pacific Islands, and the hospitality extended to the New Zealand Navy by the Islanders during a recent cruise of the Pacific dependencies. "Fall of An Empire" vividly portrayed the crumbling of Mussolines Fascist Empire, and the handling of the problems of Italy's rehabilitation by the Four Power Commission, its tours through the country, and the efforts made to interpret the aspirations of the Italian people. This was a worthwhile educative documentary film. The Fen country of England was the setting of the film "Fenlanders," which showed the reclamation and development of the marshlands and the spirit of the people. It was a well-ballanced programme and the audience testified its appreclation to Mr Pearce for an enjoyable evening entertainment. At the end supper was served.
