TAUPO HOSPITAL

the new casualty ward According to a statement from the Town Board Office the new casualty ward at the Taupo Hospital is now far enough advanced toward completion (thanks to the elforts of the Taupo representative on the Waikato Hospital Board to speed up the work), to warrant the expectation that it should be ready for use at a fairly early date. As this raises the question of extra staff, the Waikato Hospital Board is being pressed to take immediate steps to see that this will be available. Another matter that has been taken up with the hospital board is the provision of a notice board at the Taupo Hospital entrance to inform the public that the building is a hospital, not a hotel or guest house, as so many strangers looking for accommodation have seemed to think. This misunderstanding on their part has no doubt been partly due to the presence on the road-side nearby of a prominent sign bearing the legend, Spa Hotel.
