COMMUNITY ARTS SERYICE tRECITAL On Tuesday next, July 22, a string quartet visiting Taupo under the auspices of the Comunity Arts Servicq, will give a recital of music from Haydn and Sohubert in RiekiPs HalL The booking arrangements are advertised in this issue. Haydn and Schubert are among the most popular of composers of Chamber music — melody and harmony, and the charm of simplicity are the features of their compositions for strings. This is an op« portunity for Taupo that should not be missed. The quartet consisting of Miss Moira Fen-ton and Miss Louise Braidwood (violins), Miss Louise Rose (viola), and Miss Diana Coleman (cello). Future Entertainments. The C.A^S. arrangements for euL tural entertainment during the next few months includes Denis Cannon's delightful comedy, "Captain Oarvallo/, It has been described as 4sheer entertainment, with no moral, and very little morals." The presentation of the comedy in Taupo has been scheduled for August 20 next. Further details will be announced later. Then we are to have Betty Dean, an accomplkhed dancer, who will be seen in Classical, Modern and ahorigin'al dances. In Novemb^r we are to have "Beauty and the Beast", of which more anon.
