TAUPO BOY SCOUTS
In continuation of steps now in | progress for the reviving of the | Taupo Boy Scouts company a letter | has been received from the Commis- ■ sioner of Scouts (Mr J. F. Thbmas)f j authorising the local association to I proceed with the work, and approving ; the apointment of Scout-master Watson and Mr Maurice Tierney. Boys from the age of 10 to 16 may now apply for membership, and may leave their names and ages with the secretary, Mrs Peart, of Taupo View Road, the president, Mr C. Thomas, Scoutmaster Watson, and Assistant Scoutmaster, M. Tierney. The syllubus of training covers a wide range of activities, such as tracking, eamping, hiking, woodcraft, social services, Red Cross first-aid training, ^vvimmi ng, \ fire drill, and general help to anyone in need of aid.
