ST. ANDREW'S LADIES GUILD
St. AndrewT Ladies Guild their monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 28 with a good attendance of members. It was decided that the next sale of work would be held on Saturday, Novem/ber 15. As this was also the annual meeting the election of officers took place. Mrs J. Taylor was re-elec-ted president and Mrs G. Taylor re^elected secretary-treasurer.
Then followed the reading of the Annual Report: Members, it stated, had met regularly each month. Phree saies of work had been held during the year. Food parcels had been regularly sent to Dr. Rev. Sanderson in the Parish of P.lymouth, England. The Guild was visited by Bishop Lesser in October. There was also a visit from Archdeacop Hodgson and vestrymen from Rotorua, who made a special trip through to discuss plans for the proposed new church hail. The money from the saies of work would greatly help in the building of this much needed hall. Members were greatly grieved at the pa^sing of Dean Fancourt, a much loved member of the Parish. A beautiful book of remembrance n as been purchased by the Guild, whmp shortly to be inscribed and placed in the church. A p? esentation was given to Bishop Panapa when he left the | district. Donations have been sent to the following:— £5, Hurricane Relief Fund in the Pacific Islands; £51, Church committee; £5, Napier Cathedral Fund; £44 5/6, Hall Building Fund; £10, Melanesian J Boarcl of Missions. Ihus ended another happy and ; successful year for the Guild.'
