Mrs A. M. Smith of Taupo wh® has been in Hospital in Auckland is progressing favourably. * * * * Mrs Ivan Fox who has been in. .hospital in Napier for the past five weeks has returned to Taupo. * * # Mr Ray Young has been selected for the New Zealand University North Island representative Rugby team to play against the South Island at Christchurch on July 16. A member of the Massey College senior fifteen, he has also played twice this season in the Manawatu Reps. * * * Mr W. Marrett, to whose court■esy and co-operation the Times is indebted for its weeldy summary of Taupo weather, was unfortunate enough in an unguarded movement to get his thumb in the way of a circular saw when replenishing the family wood-box. It looked at first as if he would lose the thumb altogether, but according to latest reports from Rotorua Hospital he may still have it, though possibly in a less supple condition than before. * * *
