HATEPE HYDRO SCHEME

PROGRESS MAINTAINED Although the recent spell of wet weather has slowed down progress on the Hatepe Hydro Scheme, work continues to be done in the direction of the final stages. The diversion tunnel is almost ready to take the full load of the stream pending the completion of the power-house, and the installation of the turbine. The construction of the power-house is well under way. On the completion of these final stages the diversion tunnel will be closed, and the penstock from the forebay at the other end of the spillway will take up the out flow for driving the turbines.
