Taupo's seven busy people With plans and hopes, high as steeple, Who give up precious time (no pay !) These brave heroes are called "THEY." * * * Visitors, locals, passers-by Write to our Times' demanding why ? Why don't THEY give us all footpaths ? Why not rebuild the A.C. Baths ? Why can't we have electric light ? And telephones. It isn't right. Why don't THEN cut down all the scrub? And sse that we have a decent pub ? * * * Visitors' cars stir up the dust; They all complain; THEY really must Bitumen all. the roads. And cry Give us drains and water supply. Why don't THEY hurry ? Why ? Why ? Why ? The answ.ers are quite plain to me. All simply lack of £ s. d. — Treve Price.
