LARGE HOUSING SCHEME AT TOKOROA
The first sub-division in New Zealand Forest Products' housing scherne at Tokoroa, which lies east of the railway line, is now comj^ete and Land Transfer plans have been filed by the surveyors, Messrs Harrison and Grierson, with the District Land Registrar for approval. • This sub-division, which is part of the largest private housing scheme in New Zealand, provides space for 350 houses and 190 business sites. Inpluded in the area is a children's piayground, community centre and a section for the Plunket (Society. Five acres have been sold to the Government between Logan and Bridge Streets. In the area owned by the eompany adjoining the railway line between Logan and Bridge Streets, a portion is to be transferred1 to the Government to provide sidings for the railway station, and the balance will later be sub-divided by the eompany for service industry. The new sub-division lies entirely to the west of the railway line, and the first area to be developed is the land between Bridge Street , and Baird, approximatelv 50 acres. The roading plan for this area has been completed and the development of the roads is p-rogressing. All roads have been formed but require to be graded and metalled before use. DProvision is made for a two-acre children's piayground, while on the soutbern side of Bridge Street an 8acre site has been sold to the Government for a new primary school. ' '
