More Butter but Less Cheese Graded for Export
Butter graded for export during February, 1952, increased by 1545 tons compared with the same montb last year and cheese declined by 187 tons, according to figures issued by the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture. For the seven montbs to February 1 29 the comparative figures against those of the previous season sbowed an increase of 5,037 tons in butter graded' for export and a decrease of 7,209 tons in cheese. If these figures are converted into butterfat equivalent, there is an increase of a little more than one per cent, in butterfat gr^ided for the seven montbs compared witb the corresponding period of the preceding season.* The figures refer only to butter and cheese graded for export and because of diversions wbich may take place from time to time are not necessarily a true indication of production trends.
