The above are scenes at the site of Taupo's hydro-electricity scheme on the Hinemaiaia Stream, at Hatepe. The top picture shows the concrete bridge over the stream below the spillwayand part of the new access road. The powerhouse will be sited below the bridge. The second picture (below) gives a general view of the spillway running from left to right. On the far right is the forebay from which the water is led to the penstock tunnel and on to the turbines. At the left-hand end of the spillway in the picture, but not visible, is the stream-bed and the dam which is almost ready to be closed. [Note.—This part of the site was shown in the picture published last week, but carried the wrong footnote.]
