The above illustration shows the completed wall of the spillway for Taupo's hydro-electricity scheme. The lake will be formed on the far side of the wall, covering the manuka scrub. At the further end of the wall is the forebay, to which will be connected the penstock pipes leading the water to the power-house. The Hinemaiaia Stream bed is at the nearer end of the wall.
