TAUPO GOLF LINKS

The first of two matches against the Tokoroa Golf Club, for the Smith Shield, was played at Taupo on Sunday, May 11th. The teams consisted of twelve men an six women from each club.^ The following represented Taupo: — A. Graham, D. J. Falkner, K. Rameka, A. M. Smith, K. Young, V. Wilson, J. Miles, P. Brown, J. Woodward, A. J. Collett, T. Price, E, Pearse. Miss Branson, Mrs Vedder, Mrs Hullten, Miss McKelvie, Mrs Douglas, Mrs Colbeck. The result was 22 points for Taupo and 8 points for Tokoroa. The Taupo Club hopes to keep this lead when the second match is played, at Tokoroa, in the spring. The women played their second medal round on Thursday, May 17th., in conjunction with a FJag match. The senior game was won by MisS Branson. 83-9-72, and the junior by Mrs Graham, 104-36-68. On Sunday, May 25th. a Mixed t Fourball will be played, partners and opponents to be drawn.
