THE TAUPO TOWN PLAN
There is growing dissatisfaction over the delay in finalising the Taupo Town Plan. LTntil this scheme is rounded off, certificates of title are held up, and those entitled to them are unable to get on with their arrangements for building on the new business area. It appears that at every stage of the business there have been delays of one kind and $nother. There have been unnece^sary delays at the legal end, delays over surveys, delays in satisfying the requirements of the town plannlng authority in Wellington, and so on. Quite clearly, it is high time finality was reached, and people who have important interests at stake enabled to take title and proceed with their own plans. There is a progressive spirit in the Taupo Community. People are eager to get on with their plans for expansion, for new enterprises, and they find it frustrating and exasperuting to have their energies clogged by these delays. There must be more energetic action to get obstacles cleared out of the way. Where the responsibility lies it should be sheeted home, and the dilatory spurred^out of their lethargy.
