A. painful accident befel iMrs M. D. Bockley, of Te Puke, near Te Rangiita, on Friday evening last. She was lighting a whitfe spirit lamp when it flamed up, "ausing severe burns to her face, chest and arms. She was brought in to Taupo, and attended to by Dr West, who immediately ordered her to the Rotorua Hospital. Messrs Kennedy and Edlin were in charge of the Ambulance car, w*hich arrived at the hospital at 11.50 p.m. * * * * Mrs Thomas Rothwell of Sydney and Mrs Clark McConachy of Auckland are spending a short holiday with their sistea Mrs Owen Wright of Taupo.
