COMING-OF-AGE PARTY
At the Auckland residehce of Mr and Mrs Alan Bain (Windsor Castle Hotel, Parnell) a cocktail hour in honour of Miss Pamela Bain's com-ing-of-age was spent by a number of Pamela's friends. Later in the eyening the party ajoumed to the T'own and Country Club, where the birthday celebrations were held. During the sumptious supper, Mr R. Beale of Taupo, introduced on behalf of Pamela's parents the guest of hon our, and called upon Pamela's father to present the traditional key. Pamela, attired in a cream brocade with moonstone shadings, responded wih well chosen words to her mother & father, for the very nice evening, and to all the guests who had come to share a happy twenty-first birthday. A beautiful cake d'ecorated with 21 wishbones, 21 candles, and made by a very old family friend, Miss Le Luere was then cut. The evening was spent with the usual toasts, dancing games and music, this being under the able direction of Mr Alan Horsville of Auckland. After singing Happy Birthday and Auld Lang Syne a delightful evening ended for a very popular young lady. Among the guests invited and present yere: —
