TURANGI
An act of vandalism took place on the evening last Saturday week, when the A.A. Sign outside the Turangi Maori School was destroyed A passing motorist saw the sign lying on the road and replaeed it. He had no sooner started his car than the sign was again thrown on the road. The matter is in the hands of the police and a prosecution is pending. Such acts of vandalism are fortunately rare in this district. Wanton mischief of this kind cannot be condoned. * * * Visitors to the Bridge Fishing Lodge lately included: — Mr and Mrs A. R. Cutler and family, of Wellington. Mr Cutler goes 'shoutly to Ceylon as Australian High Commissioner. * * * Other visitors were Mr and Mrs W. J. Hasse, Wellington; Mr Bramley, Auckland; Colonel and Mrs Cree, Wellington; Brigadlier General King, Tauranga; Dr and Mrs Hunter, Paraparaumu; Mr and Mrs Kemp, Wellington; Mr and Mrs Haycroft, Hamilton. * * * Staying at Taylor's Lodge are Lieut. Tomline, Wellington; Mr R. H. Begg, Wellington; Mr T. Lockhart, Auckland; Mr and Mrs Allan, Auckland; Mr and Mrs Brownson, Wellington; Mr J. Coulter, Brisbane. * * * Mr and Mrs H. Cramer-Roberts, of Tauranga are staying at their cottage.
