BOWLS
A team of four players from the Taupo Bowling Club went to Ohope Beach last Sunday for a one-day tournament. The players included B. Armstrong (skip), C. McLean (3), B. Baumberg (2), , and J. Rowlands (lead). They had an enjoyable game, and did extraordinarily well, winning two games out of five. Considering they left Taupo in the early hours of the morning and were travelling until their arrival at 9 a.m., this was a very creditable effort. The Ohope club extended a hearty welcome to the team and entertained them after the close of play. The team arrived back at Taupo at 11 p.m. none the worse for the strenouos day all tired but happy.
