MAORI LAND COURT
At the opening in Tokaanu of the Maori Land Court quarterly sessions on February 12 a two-minute silence was observed in tribute to the mem°ry of His late Majesty King George VI. There was a full bench, Judge R. P. Dykes presiding. Since the previous sessions Mr Derek Asher has left the service and j gone into private business and the jnew CJerk, Mr Harper Takurangi , was introduced to the people. I ^ The list of cases includes successj ions, adoptions, and confirmations of deals and leases. A number of timber deals are also to be heard. | The session will last a fortnight and the court will then adjourn to Taumarunui.
