TAUPO CEMETERY
For some years various ratepayers have felt deeply concerned to have some improvement made in the appearance of the Taupo Cemetery. A deputation fro*m the cemetery committee recently waited on the Town Roard, urging that the area be fenced against wandering stock, and also that an earlier undertaking be implemented, na mely to lay down a portion of the cemetery ground' in •he lawn type r L°n. It was pointed out that this scheme of layout is not only in line with modern trends, I but has the added advantag , of economy of upkeep once the lawn is estab lished. It was suggested that the site of the lccal cemetery is unique in its tr.autv cf situation, and civic pride s ijuid onsure that th * present negiected state be not allowed to con--tinue. The boprd received the deputation sympathetic ally and it is hoped that the .work which would include eradicaticn of broom and other noxious weeds, will soon be put in hand. i - — _ 1
