New Craft on The Lake A notable addition to the Lake fleet is the day boat Lady Jane, recently launched from Messrs J. T. Taylor and Sons yards, Taupo. Designed by Messrs J. T. and Godfrey Taylor, Lady Jane is of the round bottom carvel built type, 18 feet 6 inches in beam, and is the first boat built by the firm sinee the war. Cabin top and permanent dodger are streamlined, and
the cabin has two bunks, to enable overnight sleeping out. A rock gas stove is fitted, and a p.w.c. A speed of , 7 miles per hour is provided by a Norman twin cylinder 6 h.p. air cooled engine, this type being installed to enable the boat to enter stream mouths without t^ouble from sand in a water cooling system, Lady Jane has been built for Mr B. Gihbons, of Shannon, and in neat appearance and roominess leaves nothing to be desired. — R.H.W. ✓
