AKBAR HAS PROSPECTS A very high standard field of 24 horses accepted for the Weffington Cup at Trentham. The first lag | of the douhle top weight is Akbar, i with 9st. He finished a creditable | third in the weight for age race at j his last start in Auckland. He j looks one of the likeliest candidates, and should he favourite. Next in the Handicap is the Auckland Cup winner Class o wa, who has an un_ denia'ble chance. Horses lower down with prospects are the Derby winner Dalray, My Hero, Royal Tan. There is a. strong sprint field for the second leg of the double, the Telegraph Handicap of 6 furlongs. The top weight, Arehbishop, has 9st. 71b., a fair weight after winning the Railway Handicap at Auckland, but must be given a show. Others lower down in /the list wVith undeniable chances are Hands Off, Coultoun, Sad Sontag, the winner of the sprint at Dunedin, Lord Moss, and Lord Fort.
