HUMANITY.
pltt.
(To ihe Edteor of the Tauuanea Argos) 1 sib) — Thursday last witnessed the concluding scene in tbe drums of life of a man unknown, uncared for, save by the few whose hearis are not yet adamant to all natural sympathies. I allude, Sir, 10 the case of the man EUiott, which you had oecasion to refer to in your last issue Tne curtain has fallen upon one of the oruellest cases I have ever yet had the painful neecssity of witnesstng. All humm eare has been bestowed i upon him since his admission to the temporary hospital you ref'erred to, and in my investigation of the j pecultar features of this melancholy history, I find | only too graphically. You described the lamentable j condition of hospital accomodation, Sir I wish on bej half of fellow creatures, resident in Te Papa, to call j on you (for no other source have we of rediess) once Imore to cry aloud for help in this matter, I cannot Sir, suggest in wbat manner it might be accomplisbed, bu» I am assured, in leaving it witb you, tbe possibility exists of such an evil being remedied.
