The Tauranga Argus.

" Sworn to no master — " Of no sect am I."

SATURDAY, DECEMBER, 8.

A Cass of a very distressing natufe has been brougbt under our notice by a letterwbich appears in anotlier portion of to-day's issue, from a eorrespondent. It will be seen by reference to that tbat if any disease should make its appearance here we are totally witbout accommodation to meet sncb an emergency. What wewant tlien for Tauranga is an Hospital, no matter liow smali and we feel tboroughly convinced,, tbat this all-important matter only wants to be properly represented, wlien the req[uired surn for tbe erec•tion of 'sncb a btiilding would at once be subscribed. It is a bard tliing for a poor unfortunate fellowereature, wbo may be without eitber money or friends in Tauranga, or wbo may accidentally arrive bere by oue of tbe many vessels, wbich are daily coming and going, tbat should he bave the misfortune to be afflicted by sickness, and for want of temporary sbelter left to die at our very doors. Let each of us look at it jn this ligbt, that it fell to our

lot to be placed in tbe above position, left to die in strange land, witbout a friend to console you in tbose parting moments, and you Avill say with us, sometbing should be done aud.at once. We would suggest that a pnblic meeting be called, and a working eonlmittee appointed to canvas tbe town, when we feel confident tbat tbe inbabitants of Tauranga will not be fonn d wanting for solaudable an object.
