In Politics, we shall make it our studv to place all questions of moment fully before the public, and where the interests and prosperity of Tauranga are at stake we shall be found constantly at our post, O'ur Local Iustitutions shall meet with attention, and we shall on all occasions endeavor to assist in their progress. We shall at all titnes be most happy to insert any communications with which we may be favored, although we will not hold ourselves responsible for the opinions expressed tlierein by our correspondents ; but alf conTmunic'ationa » r ihe Ueuent of Tauranga will meet with especia't attention, and person al correspondence, having a tendency to cause ill-feeling one with the other, will find no place in the coliimr.s of the Augus. It is intended that the Abgus shall contain all matters of Local interest, viz . Shipping, Markets, Police, Meetings, Sou'thern News, Auckland Shipping and Commercial, &c., which can be obtained up to the hour of going to press, for secut ing

which we have made ample provision. The great want felt of a cheap and respectable medium of advertising, which we fhitter ourselves this will fill, induces us to inser* advertisements at the following rates : — On( inch, three months, 30s ; two inches, ditto, 40s. ; and so on, in proportion to the length of the advertisement. Auctioneers will be allovved tlie usual discount. Advertisements for one, three, or six months, as agreed. In conclusion, we trust, that our encleavors will meet with the assistance and approbation of the Public of Tauranga and the surrounding districts. Having witnessed the success of similar publications, we throw ourselves entirely in your hauds. Jobbing of all description done at xVuckland prices.
