Railway Returns.

LYTT TELTON-CHRISTCHURCH CANAL. Christchurch, December 2. The refusal of the Government to give details of the revenue and expenditure on the Christchurch-Lyts telton line is not viewed with favour. The Mayor says the systematic obstruction offered seems to show that there is more behind than we think and the Government is probably making more profits than is represented by the railway returns. The same policy was adopted by all Governments, and the attitude assumed will strengthen the agitation for a canal.
