Phil Walsh Dramatic Company

The above company after an absence of over four months, during which they have just concluded a very successful Southern tour, return to our midst on Wednesday for one night only. The production is a a fine comedysdrama entitled “ The Drunkard’s Daughter,” founded on F. R. Robertson’s comedy drama caste. Mr Phil Walsh appears in the part of Papa Eccles, in which, according to Southern contemporaries, he excels all his previous efforts, and has raised his acting to a degree of fine art. Miss Eva Marius Paigne, in the role of Esther Eccles, the drunkard’s daughter, has made quite a name for herself by her brilliant emotional acting. Mr Walsh and Miss Eva MariusPaigne are supported by a very strong company of selected artists, and the company give an excellent interpretation of every piece in their repertoire. We have no hesitation in saying that Mr Phil Walsh and his. clever company will be greeted with packed houses during his season here. New scenery and effects are being brought, also a number of artists new to the. play-going public of Te Aroha. Popular prices will be charged.
