A Critic Boxed
London, December 2. Resenting the criticisms of the singing of his wife (Madame Clara Butt, the famous contralto who recently visited Australasia) ,Kennerley Rumford boxed the ears of the Times musical critic (Collis), in the vestibule of the Queen’s Hall. Rum* ford refused the Times’ demand for an apology, alleging that the socalled criticism was one of a senes of attacks Collis has therefore com* menced police court proceedings.
