Methodist Sunday School

ANNIVERSARY

On Sunday last the Anniversary Services in connection with the Te Aroha Methodist Sunday School, took place* The Church was prettdy decorated for the occasion, and the children occupied a platform on each side of the pulpit. The singing of the children, asswted by choir and orchestra, reflected great credit upon the conductor, Mr G. Sherlock. J-ne special hymns chosen for the anniversary b . n „ gbt ond cheerful. The services were held at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., the on each occasion being the Eev. A. «• Reed. In the morning the preacher’s subject was “ Children’s Rights.” In the f;®™ a special Children’s Service was t. T?-’ “ e a^reßS to the children being on x ignre Heads. ’ ’ A pleasing feature of this service was the presence of the children from the Anglican and Presbyterian Schools, evidencing the good spirit which prevails among the Churohes. At the evening service the seating accommodation was taxed to its utmost, many having to occupy chairs in the awles. The preacher took for his text II uhmothy IV, 21, “Do thy Diligence to Come before Winter,” and dwelt upon the importance of an early decision for Christ. At the afternoon and evening services Mrs Ashby sang a solo with acceptance. The Superintendent of the Sunday School (Mr F. Hubbard) and the Secretary (MrR. Seccombe) together with their band of devoted teachers, are to be congratulated upon the unqualified success of the Anniversary.
