The Press Cable Service Coi mittee examined Mr Collins, manag of Reuter Telegraph Company; wl deposed that his company had a ciprocal arrangement with the Pre Association since 1901, under whi all foreign telegrams were placed the disposal of the Press Associate in London, Reuter’s in return recei ing a copy of the Association’s pre messages sent to Australia. The coi pany could sell cables here to a: paper or association outside meti politan areas, add no limit to l ; subscription chargeable. The incor for such sales was divided equa! with the Association. Though the was no legal restriction against sellit to metropolitan papers, there wa* business restriction, and supplyii cables to projected papers would refused on business grounds. ' Asked if restrictions against supp] ing metropolitan papers was not limitation on competition, Mr Colli said the Association and his compa occupied two spheres.
