Social at Manawaru.

A very enjoyable social in aid of the Ladies Sewing Guild was held in Mr Thackray’s Hall on Wednesday evening, November, 3rd, and in spite of the unsettled state of the weather was fairly well attended, visitors being present from Te Aroha and GordonThe music was supplied by Misses Salt and Fitzgerald aud Messrs Donovan and Hughes. Mr W. Hughes discharged the duties of M.O. in his usual able manner. During the evening songs were given by Miss G, Fitzgerald anc Mr Bathe. Encores in both cases were responded to. , The floor was in grand order, and dancing was kept<up merrily until 12 p.m, when ia first-class supper was handed round, which all present did full justice to. Dancing was again indulged in until about 1.30 a.m.
