Chief Commander is a big, well-fur-nished horse standing nearly 17 hands, and is proportionately built, having great depth of body and splendid symmetry all over. He was selected and imported from Victoria, as, owing to his great size and strength, and Irs breeding giving fresh strains of blood, he was considered a most suitable addition to the list of sires in Waikato, and he has proved the confidence well placed, as his stock for the past two years gained the principal honours at the Waikato Central Show. He is a most popular horse in the district he has travelled, which is the very best recommendation a sire can have.
