THE NEW TIME TABLE.
(To the Editor)
Sir, —I am astonished that no efforts are apparently being made to improve the communication with Te Aroha. It is of the utmost importance that an immediate appeal should be made through our obliging Member, Mr Herries. The Borough Council should as the representative local body take the matter up. There seems every possibility of improved services contacting with the two Main Trunk trains* at Frankton, or Rotorua, as present passengers reaching Frankton from Auckland or Wellington have to remain there until either the mixed train, leaving at 11 a - m, or the express. to reach here. I would suggest that a train leave Frankton not later than 5 a.m., arriving here at 7.16, and instead of the very uncertain communication, as at present, by the Wild Cat, a train should leave here regularly at 8 p.m., so that absolutely certain communication could be made with either North or South, instead of the present very uncertain and unsatisfactory service. It would be Blso possible to junction with the Cambridge train at Ruakuru. To do justice to Te Aroha as a Tourist centre, every facility should be given to the public to reach or leave here with the lea3t inconvenience. Trusting you will use your pen to further this desirable object.—l am, etc.,
Up-To-Date.
