OUR MAILS.
(To the Editor.) Dear Bir, —It appears to me that onr worthy and obliging Postmaster has overlooked the fact that no provision is made for clearing the Pillar Boxes after 2.40. Since the establishment of the Mail closing for Auckland or the South at the Post Office at 5 p.m., and forward ed by the Wild Cat, a considerable amount of correspondence is forwarded ,'*“and sent at that time, because, as a w matter of fact, it gives business people 6 hours longer to get their letters off, and for all practical business purposes, the mail reaching Auckland at 7 a.m., is just as good as the one reaching there at 6p.m by the express. If the pillar boxes could be cleared say at 4.40 p.m daily it would confer a boon on the public generally. Apologising for trespassing on your space, and thanking Mr Beswick in anticipation.—l am, etc., Progress.
