At the social evening in connection with the Choral Society the conductor, Mr Chas. Rayner, was presented with a Gladstone bag, and the hon. pianist, Mrs W. C. Blair, with a silver rose bowl. The gifts were suitably acknowledged. A short musical programme was submitted, and supper provided. The prizes were won by Miss A. W allace and Mr Clark.

Mr Ted Armitage, Taylor«Carrington’s advance agent, is in Te Aroha, making arrangements for the 29th, Meeting of Waitoa Drainage Board ratepayers this evening: Miss Hudson, organising secretary of St. Mary’s Homes, Otahuhu, will give a public address on Rescue Work in St. Mark’s Church, to-morrow (Friday) afternoon, at 3 o’clock. All ladies interested in this most Christian work are invited to attend.

There is every indication that the concert in aid of the installation of an up-to-date sanitary system in the Te Aroha District High School, will be a bumping success. This project must appeal to all parents.
