Te Aroha Bowling Club.
COMMITTEE MEETING.
A Committee meeting of the local Bowling Club was held in the Tourist Office on Monday evening last, when there were present: — Messrs A. F. Burton (President) in the chair, J Brown, H. Gahagan, G. F. McGirr, R. L. Somers, and W. Mclnman, hon. secretary.
Invitations to attend the official openings of the greens of the undermentioned clubs were received. All take place on Saturdays in October : Hamilton, 27th Paeroa, 23rd ; Mt. Eden, 23rd; Onehunga, 23rd; Rotorua, 16th ; Remuera, 30th; Epsom, 16th ; Ponsonby, 23rd ; Grey Lynn, 30th ; Rocky Nook, 23rd and Karangahake 30th. A letter was read from J. Carlan, Esq., accepting position as one of the club delegates to Auckland Provinces Bowling Association. It was decided to hold the official opening ceremony of the Te Aroha Club on Saturday 13th November. Eight new members were admitted- It is expected that several more new mem* bers will come forward before the opening day. The Waitete club (Waihi) having signified their wish to play a match at Te Aroha on the 9th November, it was decided to accept the challenge.
The Match Committee will meet shortly to arrange details in connec • tion with the various Club competitions to be held in the coming season. The Paeroa Bowling Club green is to be opened on Saturday next, and all bowlers are invited to be present. The local contingent will leave by the 1.40 p.m. train.
