A September with more than the usual number of Spring showers. Much rain characterised the early part of the month, 3 inches of the total rainfall of 5.60 ins., falling :'.i the first week. The heaviest day’s rain was on the sth., just over an inch being recorded. Thunder and lightning was experienced on the <th, and hail fell on the Bth. Bright sunshine and warm days prevailed from the 9th to the 18th, and strong winds marked the decline of the month.
