A lost pendant is advertised for. The management of the World’s Royal Pictures notifies th/it it intends to hold an entertainment on Fiiday, October Ist, in the Public Hall, in aid of the local branch of St. John Ambulance Society. Doubtless the entertainment will receive the patronage it deserves, and that the Hall will be packed to overflowing. It is reported that another land transaction has occurred in the immediate vicinity of this rising town, in which Mr. Richard Burke, so long and well known amongst us, has disposed of his fine property at Waihou, of about 1,000 acres, to Mr. Donald McDonald, of Ruakaka, Te Aroha, on Saturday last. The change of ownership has been effected through the agency of Messrs Mclndoe & Co., who now have the property in their hands with a view of having same cut up into handy sized dairy farms, and surveyors are to be working on the estate at a very early date. The position of the Block and the quality of the rich drained swamp comprising it are well kuown to all in this district, and we understand that there are already several intending purchasers enquiring after portions of it. When finally surveyed lithographed plans are to be issued of the subdivision while conditions of sale are to be made exceptionally easy in order to enable settlers of small capital to take up sections on the estate,

From reliable Information we hear that Messrs J. and G. Lovegruve, estate agents, of Te Aroha, have just effected the sale of Mr G. Phillips property at Curanga-o-moaua, consisting of 384 acres, including stock, plant, etc., to Mr J. Sinclair, of Weiington. Also Mr Andrew Hill’s property of 856 acres, situated at Raurimu, near Auckland, to Mr P. Bird, of Stratford. Also two dwellings in this township to local buyers. Numbers of visitors during the summer months climb the Bald Spur, while not a few ascend to the mountain top and feast their eyes on the beautiful scenery stretching for miles and miles in every direction. The recent land slips, however, have cut off the track in places, and we trust the Tourist Departmett, with its customary zeal, will have the neces sary repairs effected before the fine weather sets in.
