MUSCLES OF THE HORSE.

All nuecles concerned with locomotion are Matched to bones, and when they contact, they cause the bones to which hey are fastened to move. The' lower tart of a horse’s legs are nearly all tones, but the muscles in the body nd upper parts of the limbs are atached to various parts of the bony construction by tendons, and can thus jroduce a motion of the parts located Ome distance away. The amount of motion produced by the action of say ihe of the horses’ hind legs, will defend upon the length of the muscles md the relation of the bones to which hey are attached. The commonest dea amongst students of this subject s expressed in these words: “ Long muscles for speed, short muscles for power.”
